How to Transfer iPhone Photos to Computer

We’re going to look at 2 wireless methods, because if you’re like me (and you are!), you don’t want to mess with plugging and unplugging wires and cables – assuming you can even find the right cables to begin with! You can either opt to transfer a select few photos, or sync your whole library; and I’m about to show you both.

A Few Selected Photos:

  1. Turn on Bluetooth on both the iPhone and the Mac
  2. Make sure AirDrop is ready on both devices
  3. Click the “share” icon
  4. Choose the recipient (computer) you want to send the pic to
  5. AirDrop sends it, and you’re done!

To Sync Photos Between iPhone and Mac:

  1. On the iPhone, in Settings, choose “Photos & Camera”
  2. Turn on “My Photo Stream” and “iCloud Photo Sharing”
  3. On the Mac, in System Preferences, click “iCloud”
  4. Make sure “Photos” box is checked
  5. Beside “Photos,” click the Options button
  6. In Options, be sure all 3 boxes are checked – iCloud Photo Library, My Photo Stream, and iCloud Photo Sharing
  7. Now open Photos, & under Preferences, be sure all boxes are checked
  8. You’re synced! Now, all photos on your iPhone should show up on your Mac, and vice versa.

Too many people don’t realize how easy this kind of thing is, and just slog through life doing things the hard way. But you have figured it out! Now that you know how to transfer photos from iPhone to Mac, you will never be without that pic you just shot! Plus, editing photos on your Mac is a little easier to deal with than on your phone, and you can get a better idea of what you’re doing because your screen is a lot bigger!
